Menopause is a disorder for older women, correct? Not necessarily. (...)

Menopause is a disorder for older women, correct? Not necessarily. More and more women find themselves suffering from menopause in their 30s nowadays. The reason is that as tests for ovarian, uterine, and other cancers become better, more cancer is being detected earlier. This leaves many younger women suffering from menopause with no option for hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

If you are one of these women searching for relief, read on. Since hormone replacement therapy is not an option, you need to be careful about which option you choose. Make sure you discuss with your doctor any treatment you want to try. And remember that not all treatments work the same for all women. If a treatment claims to cause your body to start producing hormones naturally, you should probably stay away from it. The reason you can’t use HRT is because those “natural” hormones could be a major contributor to your cancer.

Let me stress once again that you shouldn’t try any treatment without first speaking with your doctor. With that said, many women have found relief with soy. It’s easily found in many forms like soy milk or vitamin supplements. My favorite way to ingest soy is edamame beans. When they’re steamed and lightly salted, they’re tender and delicious. They also help reduce my night sweats and hot flashes. You also need to avoid certain foods. Fat insulates. The worse your diet is and the more weight you gain, the hotter you’ll be! Now’s the time to start following a healthy diet in general. Not only will it help your menopause, it will help your overall well-being.

Menopause doesn’t have to be a reason to sit around in 50-degree air-conditioning and fan yourself all day. Help yourself and those around you by working to reduce your symptoms. Remember to consult your doctor, try the edamame, and lighten up on the carbs, fat, and general junk food.
