Heart Diseases
It is estimated that almost one among five people are suffering from heart diseases and die due to heart related problems. These days heart diseases are quite common in people in the age group of 30 – 40 which can be due to lack of physical exercises, and due to unhealthy eating habits.
People are found to have different types of heart diseases and are diagnosed after examining the patients ECG, TNT and Echocardiography. The patient’s blood pressure and heart beat are also monitored to check whether the person is suffering from any of the heart diseases.
The common types of heart diseases are Coronary heart disease which usually affects the arteries of the person, Cardiomyopathy which is a disease of the cardiac muscles, Cardio vascular disease which affects the heart as well as the blood vessels, the veins and the arteries. Heart disease due to high blood pressure is termed as hypertensive blood pressure. Then there is Valvular heart disease, a type of heart diseases that affects the valves of the heart. .
Often people suffering from heart diseases may show any of the following symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, swelling of the legs and feet, light headedness etc. sometimes these symptoms would not show and sudden strokes may happen threatening the life of the person. A person who has diabetics may not even experience the pain and would be unaware of sudden strokes causing death.
Heart diseases if not treated properly can cause paralysis or sudden death. Often aspirins are taken by most of the people suffering from heart disease. It is necessary to consult cardiac doctors to diagnose the type of disease the person is suffering form and take the proper treatment and medications.
There are various surgical procedures to improve the functioning of the heart. These surgical procedures are done to remove blocks, repair or replace valves and in very rare cases the heart itself is transplanted. Usually heart surgeries are expensive as they are very complicated and the equipments and materials used are very expensive. There are other treatment procedures like angioplasty that can treat heart diseases. If heart diseases are not properly diagnosed and treated, it can lead to danger and even sudden death of the person.
