Using Exercise To Lose Weight
The best and only way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat healthy. Oh and exercise of course! It can’t be fun following a diet plan, I know. With baby weight and poor previous diet habits, I needed a diet that isn’t boring or tasteless. With any diet, you have to put in the work. Regardless of all those ‘get thin quick’ commercials, it’s not THAT easy.
Find good recipes, there are plenty of great cook books and websites providing these, you just have to look. Lifetime television, corny, I know, but just try it, the recipes are delicious. If you are a tv person, you can watch these shows also. Eating healthy is your first goal to helping you lose weight. That is why I HAVE to mention it first.
Secondly, you need to exercise to burn fat. If you are one of those people who buy a gym membership and never use it, then don’t waste your money on that, find a new ways to burn those pounds off. If you have stairs, great exercise. take a few extra trips up and down a day. Purposely leave things to make yourself have to go back down just ONE more time. Or how about just a walk. Do you HAVE to drive to the grocery store for that one thing your forgot? All it takes is a little push and then you will feel so different from even that little bit of fat burned. You’ll want more once you start. Not goal orientated? Well then sign up for classes that charge you even if you don’t show up to force yourself into it.
Pilates is a great class to take. You will gain strength and flexability in one class. Don’t worry though, it’s not like yoga. You won’t be curling into a ball in some weird fashion. It is simply a way to burn fat and stretch out those muscles at the same time. There are different levels like with most exercise programs as well.
Pilates is one of the most favored ways of exercise today. It was a program designed in a rehabilitation center. It can also help with back and aliment problems. Not into ‘chick exercise’? Try weight lifting. If you can afford a personal trainer, this is the best way to go, but if not, then just hit the weights by yourself. (Remember, weights are dangerous, they have to be used carefully.)
Lifting weights only requires a little bit of knowledge of equipment. As long as you are working out different parts of the body you will do just fine on your own. Just turn on that rockin music and start in on some heavy lifting. Weights are a great way to tone muscle and get that ‘just worked out’ feeling. When you are just starting out, that is an awesome feeling, knowing you are accomplishing something with your body.
If you can stick with any kind of work out regime and eat those healthy foods, you will shed that extra weight. You have to REALLY want it. Nothing will work if you just do it half way. Commit to burning that fat.
